Briony Wood BDS DPDS
Briony qualified with BDS from University College, London University in 1990. She began her career with a vocational training post in an Exeter general practice that had a special interest in oral surgery and sedation. Following an NHS dental position in Weston-Super-Mare she became owner of a 5 surgery private practice in Shaftesbury for 7 years before moving on to develop her post-graduate skills by working in practices with special interests in sedation and dental implants.
Briony has always been active in postgraduate education and has twice been a vocational trainer for new dentists. She obtained a Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies in 1996 from Bristol University. She then enrolled for a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry at Eastman Hospital completing a 2 year certificate course in all aspects of restorative dentistry, a years course in Dental Materials and a module in partial dentures. She has undertaken training in sedation techniques with SAAD and accumulated much experience in Intravenous sedation. She is now near completion of a Diploma in Implant Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons.
Briony is a member of British Dental Association, Association of Dental Implantology UK, Society for Advancement Anaesthesia in Dentistry, Faculty of General Dental Practice(RCS),Dorset Independent practitioners group
